Summary
Immunefi sets clear expectations on what the standard of conduct is for both whitehats and projects. We warn or ban whitehats and projects when they engage in conduct on the prohibited behavior list.
Whether it is in a bug report, in private DMs with Immunefi staff or projects, or in public spaces like Twitter and Discord, observance of the rules is mandatory, and willfully breaking them will lead to a warn or permanent ban.
I was banned, but the reason was not explained to me.
Please check your email inbox for an email notifying you of the ban. This email will list the reason why you were banned. In most cases, when a user on Immunefi is banned, it is because they are submitting very low-quality, spam-like bug reports.
I got banned without a warning. Is that normal?
It is normal. We take rule violations very seriously. If users send large amounts of spam-like submissions to projects, they will be banned without further warning. We do not, however, ban whitehats who submit good faith bug reports, and the difference between good faith bug reports and bad faith, spam-like bug reports is very clear.
If you are banned, you will still receive an email notification of your ban and the reason why you were banned.
The notification says that I was banned for making a duplicate account, but this is my only account.
If you believe that there was an error that resulted in you getting wrongfully banned (i.e. you did not create a duplicate account), then you should proceed to appeal.
How do I appeal a ban?
Since you have been notified of the ban reason, be sure to gather evidence that helps prove your case. This can include emails, screenshots, and any information that helps to contextualize and help our team conduct the appeal process.
After that, send an appeal request to review your ban to support@immunefi.com.
Be aware that in the vast majority of appeal cases, the ban is not removed.
How long is the timeline of the ban?
Please be aware that bans on Immunefi are permanent and do not have an expiration date. Rules are necessary for keeping our community a thriving and healthy place for both whitehats and projects. Prohibited behaviors are especially a non-negotiable aspect of this.
